MISSOURI OUTDOORS
"MISSOURI OUTDOORS" first hit the "air" in 1986 produced locally for the Jefferson City/Columbia market. Since 1989, the show has been distributed statewide. The show was originally hosted from a studio setting. Today, each program is shot on-location throughout the state. It's been that way since 1991.
The magazine style show features 3 to 4 individual stories focusing on conservation and outdoors related topics, activities and people of Missouri. The shows also include short segments featuring wildlife, nature notes, outdoor cooking, how-to tips, agent tales, website questions and wildlife sounds. In addition a show produced especially for kids "Just Kiddin' Around," hosted by Sarah Tannehill has created a following of young viewers.
Each 30-minute program is closed-captioned for the hearing impaired and is produced by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
